Act towards your dream today

 It's so easy to get stuck in the motion of getting ready to act. All the various things that we think we need to do before we actually take action.

We need to get real and honest with ourselves. All of the "getting prepared" tasks and trying to make sure we have all of our ducks in a row before we pull the trigger are just stalling tactics.

In our mind we think we're strategically planning how we're going to make the move. We're analyzing. We're learning. We take more classes. We read more books. We do what we can and then go back to improve some of those things that we may have missed.

All the while we aren't making any headway towards our dream. Instead of our life taking a quantum leap it's a quantum dud.

All of the preparing and getting ready tasks, all of the strategizing and trying to figure out tactical specifics before we act are just a way that our beliefs systems, our mindset, and paradigms are undermining our desires. It's done with good intention, to keep us safe from the unknown, to protect us from uncertainty. 

These "acts" of preparing make us feel better. They make us think and feel like we're doing something, when in fact we're treading water.

Here's the problem with treading water. Eventually we get tired and either drown, have to get rescued, or go back to where we were.

But what if that apparent deep patch of water is just a small one and we can actually put our feet down? Maybe we have to really stretch to feel the bottom, but it's there.

What if all we need to do is get a few good strokes in and we'll cross the deep zone?

What if our swimming skills are much better than we think they are and we just need to trust in ourselves?

When we act and "fail" then we have something to learn from and improve upon for the next time. So, the act isn't actually a failure.

Failure to act is where failure comes in. We can't learn from our mistakes and challenges if we don't act.

So do something towards your dream. Even if it's little. Start getting the needle moving towards that desire. Start moving and building momentum. 

Start with little steps. Over a short period of time those small acts build momentum and it becomes easier to carry on.

With regards to your dream/desire:

  • What can you do now?
  • What can you do in the next 24 hours?
  • What can you do in the next 7 days?
  • What can you do in the next 30 days?
  • What can you do in the next 60 days?
  • What can you do in the next 90 days?

Let go of trying to get ready for the change. 

As you act two things happen. 

First, you'll likely discover you know more than you realize, that you're more ready than you thought.

Second the law of attraction begins to work. As you start demonstrating real belief and faith in your dream by taking real action towards your dream, things you need, or will need, will start to show up. Ideas, thoughts, impressions may come to mind. Pieces of strategy come together in a more natural way and you can refine things as you move along.

Remember, today is the time to start. If you don't want tomorrow to be like yesterday, then you need to do things different today.
